Am I getting punk'd?
This morning started like any other....Got the boys showered, dressed and we all had breakfast. I was little tired because it is the 2nd day of my "I am not going to drink caffeine ever again" part of the my lifestyle change since I joined WW yesterday. I scurried the boys to the car. Buckled everyone in, may sure Kayla was locked up in the backyard, put the garbage cans out so I wouldn't have to do it tonight...Finally get into the car, turn the key and nothing....I turned it again, thinking, "this is NOT happening!" aaaannndddd...nothing...The van is deader than a doorknob. This is the 4th time since June! I called Aggie and she came and picked up Jacob and took him to school. I called AAA (We were told by the AAA guy on 10/31/08, there was a 1.5 AMP drain somewhere that is draining the battery and don't know where it was coming from. The van wasn't giving up any problems so, we forgot about it. Well, it all came back to me this morning. While I was waiting for the AAA guy, I called Saturn and told them all the problems we were having, yadda, yadda, yadda. The cherry on top of this sundae is that I am 624 miles over my
3 year/36 mile warranty! It would be $100.00 to diagnose the problem! My friend, Sally advised me to take to her car guy in town. They were only $85.00 to diagnose and he is pretty honest. So, I called my father in law and he let me borrow one of his cars, so I wouldn't have to worry about getting the car back. I dropped the van off and then got my father in law's car.
FAST FORWARD to this afternoon. Sally's car guy called and said the battery is dead and they replace the battery and they are keeping overnight to make sure there is no other problems or draining of the new battery. This will cost us about $170.00 which if my battery/drainage thingy is fixed, it was well worth it. I hope that it is fixed because I will have to pay AAA to come and bail me out from now on because I burned through the 4 freebees that I get a year!
There is a light at the end of the tunnel...I didn't overeat today. And Sally is watching Matthew all morning and early afternoon so I can clean and do laundry tomorrow. I am actually excited!
