I decided to take Jacob to church again. I was taking up until April 15, 2007 (my birthday no less) when he made a scene and an old(er) lady in front of us said to be quiet and shhhhsshed me with her fingers on her lips. He promised and he wouldn't act up. I told myself that we are all going to church. Don said that he didn't mind at all coming with me and boys. But just Jacob came this time. He is not Catholic but he knows how important this is to me. I told myself that I can't make excuses as to why I am NOT taking the boys. They will be in CCD classes soon enough and I don't want to be totally oblivious to the Caltholic religion. Anyway, back to the story. We went to 5 PM mass. He was doing well. He was quiet, a little figety but okay. We even got to take up the gifts to the priest! He carred the Eucharist and I was so proud of him! He really like the kneel pad thingys Well, he started to act up and slipped on the kneel pad thingy and hit the bridge of his nose really bad. He had perfect timing....During the concecration of the Eucharist. I rushed him out of the church into the vestibule and he was screaming and crying. After about 2 minutes, he was looking like Marcia Brady after she was hit by the football! (Ugggh! my nose!) He was covering it up and he seemed so humiliated about it. I told him that he could get an ICEE at Target after church. So that calmed him down.
Fast forward to Target. He smashed his fingers throwing away something in the trash, then the grand finale, he was running in the store and clipped his forehead on the end of the shirt rack!
Goodness Gracious! The boy goes to church for the first time in 9 months and this is what happens!
He is okay. He just looks like he went 3 rounds with Mike Tyson....Ohhh! He still has both of his ears though!
Wanted to share some great news that happened today. And it is my first post on my fabulous blog....
I am of the Co-VP of Jacob and Matthew Preschool (can you guess the name?!) Humpty Dumpty! The election was held tonight. I am in charge of the membership of the Toddler program. Matthew will be starting on November 26th, his 18 month birthday. This is Jacob's last year! It is a great program! This is H/D's 41st year as a parent-teacher co-op. I will be in this position until January of 2008. I might run again, though. My ultimate goal would be to become President of the Preschool, and then like Madonna said in 1984...rule the world, provided that Jacob is still potty trained and Matthew is not still hanging on my hip!
